Microplates

The MB-series chambers utilize 96-well microplates* as the lower wells. Due to the critical nature of the sealing surfaces and specific plate dimensions, we recommend using only the following plates. Use of other plates may allow leaking and void the warranty. At this time we offer two types of plates, both made of clear, tissue-culture grade polystyrene.

Add MPC to Shopping Cart Stock# MPC – These standard plates have a well capacity of 400µL. They may be used in any of the MB series chambers. Sold in packs of 15.

Add MP30 to Shopping Cart Stock# MP30 – These are 30µL low volume plates that may be used in the MBB96 or MBC96 chambers, with the purchase of an appropriate spacer (Stock# SP30). Part of the proprietary design of these allows the plates and filters to press together. Filters with adhesive are not needed. Sold in packs of 15.

*Reusable low volume inserts (100µL, 50µL or 25µL) may be used in place of disposable microplates.

Funnel Plates

Add FP1 to Shopping Cart Stock# FP1 – 96-well funnel plates allow rapid transfer of cells and media (or other fluids) from Neuro Probe 30µL microplates (ChemoTx ® system or MP30), or from the IB-50 or IC-25 reusable inserts, into other 96-well plates. This is most often done in order to have more room for adding stains (such as MTT), etc.

Place the plate with the cells on a flat surface. Put the large ends of the funnels over the rims of the wells. Invert the receiving plate onto the small ends of the funnels. Turn the assembled plates over and place into a microplate centrifuge to spin the cells from one plate to the other.
